The Drone Ranger was founded in 2021 by Nathan Sheets. Nathan is the sole owner and PIC of TDR with an eye for flight and photography. After being born and raised in Louisville, Nathan moved to Richmond to pursue higher education, with a focus on aviation. He now lives in Shelbyville, Kentucky with his wife and German Shepherd. Nathan is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University’s professional pilot program. He is a fully licensed fixed-wing commercial pilot with hundreds of hours. Thanks to this background, he has unique knowledge that he brings to the table as a UAS operator. Furthermore, Nathan is a commercially certified Part 107 drone pilot, allowing him to operate in high-level, commercial environments. This rare blend of experiences allows TDR to function with a high degree of efficiency without compromising safety.

Years of Safety Experience Nathan is a fully rated Multi-Commercial Fixed Wing Pilot with an Instrument Rating. Being able to operate in complex, high-level environments is a valuable trait, regardless of the project. Commercially Certified
The Federal Aviation Administration has authorized us to operate under Part 107 flight rules. This means we have demonstrated our knowledge of regulations and how to fly our drones using safe operating procedures in commercial environments.
FEMA ICS 100 Certified
FEMA is a government organization tasked with mitigating the impacts of natural disasters and terrorist attacks. We have completed the training to become a piece of the relief effort and are part of this broad array of entities, ready to respond on a moments notice.
